Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS): It is National Body for the standards. They have their own mark "ISI". They are preferred only for those items which are mandatory in India as they are costlier and their lead time is high. They consider CB report of only MCB. For rest of the items they depend on their own testing. They also conduct the factory testing.
